Matured innocence

Western Sahara is a disputed territory in the Maghreb region of North Africa, bordered by Morocco to the north, Algeria to the northeast, Mauritania to the east and south, and the Atlantic Ocean to the west.Morocco keeps claiming two thirds of the Saharawi Territory by occupation. The visual and physical evidence of this is the two thousand km Wall build in 1990 which divides the territory in two and subsequently divides the Saharawi families. Half a million people are suffering under this separation. The Western Sahara conflict is an on-going conflict between the Polisario Front of the Sahrawi People and the kingdom of Morocco. The conflict is the continuation of the past insurgency by Polisario against the Spanish colonial forces in 1973–75 and the subsequently Western Sahara war between the Polisario and Morocco (1975–91). Today the conflict is dominated by unarmed civil campaigns of the Polisario Front and their self-proclaimed SADR state to gain fully recognized independence for Western Sahara.People in Western Sahara are suffering the hand of injustice by the violation of all human rights since UN is not dealing with the conflict because of European lobbies and status quo. Prove of this is the MINURSO, which functions as UNs base in the free territory. Their mission is to monitor a cease-fire and to organize and conduct a referendum in accordance with a settlement plan, which would enable the Saharawi people of Western Sahara to choose between integration with Morocco or Independence. This was intended to constitute a Sahrawi exercise of self-determination but nothing has been accomplished yet.
